Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland

FYI for the local Cleveland crafter scene: applications for Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland are now available. This is Cleveland’s fourth year as an event city, and Stitch Cleveland co-owner Shannon Okey is the event organizer.

Bazaar Bizarre began in the Boston area circa 2001 with a group of friends bringing together their handcrafted DIY wares to sell while staging an offbeat entertainment extravaganza. Now in its seventh year, the Bazaar Bizarre has brought its hip, fun craft fairs to Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco as well as Cleveland.

So, mark your calendars now — Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland takes place downtown on Saturday, December 1 from noon to 9:00 p.m. This year we’re in a new venue, the Sincere Building. Located at the corner of East Fourth and Prospect (2079 East Fourth), the show will have considerably more space than in previous years and it’s right near Lola, the Corner Alley and all kinds of downtown fun.

We’re also soliciting performers — in past years we’ve had belly dancers, DJs and more — if you’re interested, leave a comment!

Cleveland Knit Out & Crochet

Don’t forget about this weekend’s big event! We will gather for the Knit Out around noon at Voinovich and have five hours of fun with needles… and hooks. Among the other stores and guilds that will be representing: River Colors Studio, Knitting on Square, the North Coast Knitting Guild. Prizes for attendees were donated by The Bag Smith, FiberWorks, and Knit Wit Knits.

This community event will give you a chance to catch up on your knitting or crochet, learn how to knit or crochet at our teaching table, or meet some guilds and clubs you didn’t know about. We will be doing multiple demos throughout the day including Shibori and crocheting with beads. You can even donate your time tomorrow to helping us with our Warm-Up America squares!

See you there!

Communication breakdown!

All of us at Stitch Cleveland want to say SORRY! We are having some phone issues at the shop that seem to be preventing some of you from contacting us. We are working on solving the problem, but for those of you who have been trying to phone in, we are unable to receive your messages and phone calls. If you are not successful in contacting us via phone, please email us! (shop@stitchcleveland.com)

We all check our mail multiple times throughout the day, and can usually get back to you even more quickly than we can with the phone. Our phone will be back in working order soon and we hope to hear all of your beautiful voices. Heck, we’ll be so excited to answer the phone we may even fight for it!

(Shannon, have I ever told you I am a black belt in karate…?)
