New Stitch Cleveland Event!

We recently became members of a group called Ladies Who Launch… since we are, you know! Stitch Cleveland is not only a place where you can get your stitch on, but Thursday evening you can also get your network moving. We are hosting a Ladies Who Launch meeting! Cleveland has it’s very own chapter, hosted by the very talented and motivating entrepreneur Margey Lowery.

LWL is a national organization that supports women in business. Wether you are looking to start a business, just thinking about it, or have been in business for years, this group is a great networking tool and think tank. The topic of discussion will be Affiliate Marketing… what the heck is that anyway?! To attend, simply register online so that we know to expect you! We’ll save you a seat!

NOVEMBER CLASS SCHEDULE

Skirts, Jackets and vests…You’ve got to add these to your wardrobe!!  Learn how to fit & construct new garments.  The best thing about sewing for yourself is that  you can make it just the way YOU want it!

We haven’t forgotten all those garments in your closet either – I know, they’re too long, too tight, or maybe too loose!  Join the Alterations Clinic and learn how to alter and update them all.

Or maybe embellish them!  Love that Anthropologie look and all those details on the stuff at Urban Outfitters?  That black sweater is great, but just too plain?  Cool skirt, but nothing special?  We’ve got lots of ideas up our sleeves for these!  Applique, hem finishes, details!

After School Sewing…pillows and PJ’s are on our list for this month.   Crochet, too!  Beginner and Amigurumi – you know, those cute crochet animals…learn how to make them, they’re easy once you get the hang of it.

Find all times and dates on the Class tab above.  Got a crazy schedule?   Set up a couple private lessons with us instead.

MetroHealth and Stitch Cleveland

Stitch Cleveland is partnering with MetroHealth and The Cleveland Institute of Art to contribute to the Aids Memorial Quilt. Together, we will be contributing 20 new panels to the quilt that is displayed throughout the country. 20 Cleveland area families will be chosen to team up with artists from CIA and volunteers from Stitch Cleveland to create and assemble 3′ x 6′ panels that will then be used to create a 12′ square quilt to be displayed in Atlanta, GA and be a part of the traveling exhibit!

Stitch Cleveland is excited to be a part of this project. Janome has kindly donated machines for our use. Sulky has donated supplies such as thread and stabilizer. We are still looking for volunteers to help the families with their creations. Sewing experience is great but not a necessity… we will also need quilt sitters, sketchers, and much more! For more details about volunteer opportunities with Art, Activism and Aids you can click, call or stop in!

See you at the show…

We are participating in a show in neighboring Rocky River to benefit the cheerleaders at Rocky River High School. Stop in and say hey! We’ll have lots of new things for sale there including sock monkeys, knit and crochet necklaces, and bags! Jessica from Big Pink Heart will be at our booth also with her great stuffed owls and new gnomes and babushka girlies… see you there!

It’s still happening at Stitch!

DSCN0859Hi all… lots of great things happening before the holidays here at Stitch Cleveland. Get ready to volunteer for the Aids Memorial Quilt at Metro Hospital. We are all working together to create some amazing work there with 20 families. Stay tuned in the next few days for details!

Don’t forget about Stitch for the holidays, too! Gift certificates are available, as always, and are a great idea for a someone who has everything. Sewing lessons, fashion illustration, pattern making, and fashion design are only the beginning of what is possible!

New fabrics will arrive soon as well as new patterns and kits. Keep checking in… we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

It’s October already!  Time to take some sewing classes and learn  new skills, add to your fall/winter wardrobe, or just keep the kids busy with a Sewing Club!  Below are some of the classes scheduled for October, click on the Class tab above for times and dates, or just give us a call.
