We’re bringing Sewing back!

AFTER SCHOOL LESSONS FOR KIDS  will start up again on October 3.  Classes will be Fridays, 3:45-4:45. Cost is $40 per week, (includes all supplies)  payable monthly before the first lesson.  Payment holds a seat in the class. Machines are provided, however if your child has one, it’s a good idea to bring it along so they become more familiar with it.  Registration closes on Sept 19, class size is limited so we can give individual attention.

We’ll be working on all kinds of fun stuff this year!  Kids will be sewing projects geared to their skill level.  We do suggest they take a beginner lesson before starting in a group setting – they’ll feel more confident if they do-and that makes for a better experience!

SUMMER CAMPS were sold out this year – and were tons of fun for the kids – and us, too!  We’re planning HOLIDAY CAMPS, too!!  Call if you’re interested and get added to the wait list so you’re not left out!

We’ll be offering beginner KNITTING AND CROCHET classes again this year, too!  For kids & adults. Cowls, daisy chains & cute animal caps are among the beginner projects.

SUNDAY HOURS will be starting September 21.  We’ll be open 12-4pm !!

HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY is scheduled for OCT 25 – we’ll be sewing in our costumes and making a plushie candy corn pillow!  We’ve also scheduled another OWLIE workshop, which is always fun! We have lots of Halloween colors chosen so these Owlies will be ready for trick or treating!

Check the Class Calendar for additional classes, and as always-private lessons can be scheduled to fit your busy day!

Sign up for Skirt Bootcamp with Megan – Learn to create a skirt from start to finish. We’ll begin by learning how to determine size and cut a commercial pattern. Discover the benefits of making a muslin first and learn to fit and move alterations to your pattern. You will have a finished skirt you can wear for the rest of the summer! What Heidi’s been up to…

Heidi’s been sewing and knitting like a madwoman for her soon to arrive grandson.  In case you haven’t heard, her daughter, Megan, is expecting her first baby in March.  First grandchild, yes, we’re all sewing, knitting and crocheting like crazy!!  We’re makers, and just can’t help it, it’s just what we do.

This week, she started a quilt…

This is the quilt top, it will have a narrow border and free-motion stitching will be applied, similar to the rocket quilt that is on display in the store.

Are these not the most adorable booties you’ve ever seen?  These are from Amy Butler’s new book, Little Stitches for Little Ones.  And by the way, Amy will be visiting us April 17th, details on that event to be posted soon.

And some knitting, too.  This weather is great for knitting and these small projects go quick!!  On her needles now is the baby Einstein bunting from Sally Melville , and on her hook is the Babette blanket from Interweave Press.

And by the way, you can learn all of these techniques at Stitch Cleveland, because that’s what we do!
